On Friday 23rd May, Classes 3 and 4 went on a school trip to Exeter Cathedral and St Nicholas Priory to learn about the Tudors. We split into two groups with a mixture of Year 3 and 4. One group went to the Cathedral whilst the others headed to St Nicholas Priory. At the Cathedral we learnt about how they thought the earth didn't move but the sun did. We stood in awe at the longest vaulted ceiling in the world! We also learnt how the Cathedral used to be known as ‘Heaven On Earth’ so people wanted to be buried as near as possible to it. At St Nicholas Priory we learnt about the Tudors’ diet; if you were rich you had a large variety of meat and wine. In Tudor times there was a thing called gambling when people would bet for money, but if you were caught playing it you would be put in the stocks and get rotten fruit thrown in your face all day and be known as ‘the gambler’.  by Ivy and Sammy, Class 4
