16 January 2017

On Tuesday 10th January, experts from Somerset Museum visited Classes 1 & 2 and 5 & 6. Classes 5 & 6 had a World War 2 expert. Firstly, we listened to the air raid siren and ducked under the tables as if it was actually WW2. Then we split into groups and did different activities. One of the activities was for us to learn about the home gaurds. We dressed up as one and learnt how to put out a fire using an old fashioned hose. For the second activity, we look at rationing and found out what would happen if food hadn't been rationed. The final activity was about evacuees. We looked through a child's suitcase to see what they were allowed to take. The morning was really enjoyable.                                                                                                                                        by Poppy and Noah, Class 5.

Another visitor from Somerset Museum visited Classes 1 & 2 and showed the children lots of toys from the Victorian times and we looked at what materials whey were made from. We were lucky enough to play with lots of the toys and compare them with toys children play with today.
